My man knows better than to leave me alone with the internet all day.

As well as my usual scoping of outfits on eBay...

I discovered Kurhn dolls.

They are Barbie-like fashion dolls sold in China.

Their outfits are generous and bright. They have an excellent serene look to their mold.

They are priced $8-18 for regular releases. And $13-40 for the collector's editions.

Very reasonable.

I have a couple I have my eye on and may or may not purchase them. I've seen some rebodied on Obitsus so that's an idea.

I was also admiring Momokos yet again.

But seeing they are the same price as the other dolls I collect I would either have to narrow down my collecting or just admire from afar.

I simply love the Marrons Glaces release, she's so sweet and retro looking. I would love to get an Afternoon Class Cancellation or Midnight Crossing to pair her off with.

The first Momoko I ever saw was Winter Bus Stop, who still tempts me. As does the Yukata dressed one, I'd love to have her too but sadly, I'd never be able to touch her. She'd be display only.

Post-move doll news

With us moving again, I didn't have a real chance to get my Blythe, Pullips and Marin out straight away and I felt sorry for the Barbie dolls I nude and discard.

Here they are showing off beautiful kimonos/yukatas and a Vietnamese Ao-Dai belonging to my Pullip girls.

Yes, the new place is shocking for light but, I live right near the canal.

I got a Squall Pullip for my birthday. Bought at an incredible price, she remains in-box right now until I have all my dolls out and safe. She, like Aurora was one of my grails. I never thought I'd get either of them.

Her name is Kizzy. She is the only Pullip I have who is not pale in skintone.

There is Aozora showing off her new Obitsu body, look at that! Sitting up on her own. Impressive.
Aozora and Aurora are being rebodied to Hard-Bust bodies and Cyrilié is going onto a Large soft-bust.

Where are all my dolls at the moment?

Marin is stored in her custom doll-carrier.
Misha is stored with Marin. As are the midgets (Petite Blythe.)
Adamina and Tomoko are sitting where the Barbies were in the photo.
Aozora is in a box waiting to get fixed as her eye mech is stuck.
Aurora is a bodyless head and scalpless waiting for body.
Manaka and Paprika are wrapped up safe and stored temporarily.
Cyrilié is with them, scalpless, awaiting eyelash replacement.

My birthday is on Tuesday, I'll be 24.

My fiance, J will be bestowing on me another addition to my Pullip family. I'll leave it as a surprise.

And we are marrying on the 11th June this year in Dublin.
To celebrate we are getting the June release Xiao Fan, as soon as I saw her I thought "perfection". It's as if someone stole into my mind for my ideal pullip. I'm almost rabid to own her, she'll be extra special as J is buying her as my husband and naming her himself, something symbolic to our union.

Unveiling Aozora

Aozora is finished. I am so happy with the result, it turned out much nicer than I imagined.
We did have some trouble putting her eyemech back in after though, quite stressing but now sorted.

Zora before:

Her lips were sanded to remove colour.
She has pastel eyeshadow, above and on lids.

pastel pink lips
slight blushing

She unintentionally turned out to look a bit like Panda and Prunella in my opinion. But still unique and incredibly special in her own right.

She is love, she is currently sitting above the computer with her sister, Aurora, both clad in headscarfs.

She'll be wigged and rebodied at the end of the month, along with Aurora and Cyrilie.

Aurora arrived yesterday, She's a Street (Pullip). I was surprised by the Type 1 body, I love it. Shame it had came with damage to the legs, I was considering Obitsu-ing her before she arrived but now I'll have to... I just love Type 1: The bust size, the legginess and the massive feet are all brilliant.
And I was so surprised her neck didn't snap in transit!

Why does she look so sad and restless? Well, she's been dying to meet her sister, Aozora but Zora is being customised at the moment.

I had no idea she'd look so great in that headscarf. I threw it on to stop her feeling all self conscious of her baldness.

I felt bad, we moved to a smaller place just before Christmas and the girls had never been outside since then.

With Cyrilié and Aozora awaiting their new looks (Cyrilié is having minor changes: body swap, new wig and eyelashes replaced. Aozora is having minor customisations: lip colour removed, eyeshadow applied, freckles applied, new eyelashes, wig and body swap) I took my two Purezzas out, Manaka and Paprika to the tempting park opposite for a little photoshoot.

Bonus:

I'm dastardly ill at the moment but here's me and Paprika hiding in our hats.

Paprika hair wars

Two days later I braved the hot water straightening method for Paprika's ridiculous curls, I admit, they were fine to look at but they were sticky to touch from glue when she was packed and, they didn't suit her character anyway.

So I grabbed her wig and pulled with all my might (careful not to strain her neck though) and it slowly debonded from her head.

Then, I spent all day walking to and fro the kitchen ---> bathroom everytime I had a boiled kettle and poured the hot water down her wig, letting gravity unkink and soften the curls until it was straight, pausing after each kettle to soak the wig in cold water. It worked well but backfired a little as some of the hairs frazzled from the heat.

When it was straight enough, I shampooed and conditioned it, waited 'til it was dry then put some white glue in the wig-net part and on Paprika's head then secured it's place with rubber bands until it was dry then I styled it.

I felt a little sad, Paprika was so pretty bald!

See the rain outside? The concrete was soaking! Hence the bad light and me taking them on the doormat.

It's still quite kicky and uneven but I'll neaten it up slowly later to avoid mistakes..

Today I finally conditioned Manaka's wig, it was in a horrible state, dry and balding badly.

It must be Pullip day today.

I woke and answered the door this morning to the package from the US supplier/forum, Pullip Style.
I made an order with them last Friday.

I then looked down and saw a slip stating that another package was waiting at the depot.
I knew it must of been the nude Uncanricky Pullip I bought from Washed.

It was. She is going to get a new body and be rewigged though, her stock wig is such a "blah" colour. And her body is tight and very squeaky.

She is lovely though, her makeup is all pinks, pastel blues and light purples and she has a small jewel under her eye.

She has these sparkly dark blue eyes that I tried to capture:

I dressed her and went to take some photos but it was raining so I took these hurriedly:

Her name is Cyrilié.

The other two are my first Never Removed From Box Pullips.

They are Paprika and Aozora. Paprika is a Brand New Purezza and Aozora is a Little Red Riding Hood.

Paprika is named after the Satoshi Kon film and is so beautiful in person!

Aozora means "clear blue sky" in Japanese. (and as I'm actually editing this entry from Feb 2008, I must admit I only just named her. For weeks and weeks I nicknamed her "Baby Love" until her personality showed)
She made me fall in love with her sweetness right away, her poor floppy Type 2 body made her all the more appealing. I felt like I needed to "baby" her.

Lucky arrived as a surprise present from Sez today. How thoughtful she is! Chikorita is my favourite Pokemon and he is the right size for photos with the dolls (bonus!)
Micro was a present from Mum I received last year we were apart.

After I redressed Manaka on the weekend I was going to take her photo yesterday but it was soaking outside.

I thought they both are too wonderful for just photos.

Manaka: Nice to sit here quietly now isn't it Micro?

Although I'm calling this the Pin-up contest I'm really looking for any vintage (1900-1940) looking ads. Pin-up limits you a bit to just Pullips, but I'd love to see boys, dals, and mini's as well.

Well, today Jane came around and fixed Misha and Tomoko.

New clothes for the girls arrived from Sevastra on Pullip Style today. I bought four items, the presentation of the inner package was brilliant, I was impressed by the effort. The clothes are very cute and well sewn. The store was so full of cute outfits it was hard to choose!!

It arrived! When I spotted it I had to get it for Misha.

I carefully deattached the underskirt, apron from the dress so they are now optional and can be used elsewhere if wanted.
The outfit is so beautifully tailored!

The dress itself has puffy sleeves on the upper arm and it tapers down from there. It is the most perfect dress I have ever seen. It is the one I've wanted to find for ages.

There was all of 10 minutes of sun earlier so I took some snaps.

...Now the sun has returned I might take some more.

I've been wanting to wash Adamina's hair for ages. Ever since I got her her hair has been unruly and ratty at the ends.

I found the most useful guide to help:

First of all I nuded her.
I had to take her hair out of her hairclips and ponytail.
Then I got a piece of tape and put it over the hole at the back of her head.
I got a "food bag" made of thick plastic to use to shield her face, her eyelashes are water-soluble so it was required. I used a hair-tie to further secure it around her neck.

At this point she looked like this:

I then took her to the bathroom, rinsed her hair under the tap but her hair is so thick it didn't do much good so I filled the sink with water and put her hair in. See?

After that James came in to help, you don't need any special kind of shampoo so we used ours: Herbal Essences--Rainforest. James held Adamina up as I lathered her hair.

We washed it out first under the tap then in again in the sink filled up, then under the tap again.

We then followed up with Conditioner, just some Aldi generic-brand we use. We worked it from the roots to the ends, first with fingers then with a comb. I was happy because by the time we were rinsing it out, her hair felt really silky smooth.
(I didn't get any pics)

After I had made sure it was all rinsed out. Adamina was laid out on the ironing board on a dry towel with her hair out behind her. I'm going to let it dry naturally for the most part and keep an eye on her hair to comb it as it dries.

I'll take off the tape and plastic when her hair is dry enough not to fuss her eyelashes.
